But hey, look on the bright side: The BBC have implicitly announced that they are definitely making more Sarah Jane Adventures. And with that, the worry that RTD’s small empire of SF up at Upper Boat was going to sink without trace under the new regime has been put to rest. Torchwood, I could take or leave (and indeed, with the news of a US edition, I’m guessing more hilariously bad stuff is to come, unless they pull off a complete overhaul), but it would have been an enormous shame if plans for more SJA had quietly drifted off into the ether when Rusty moved to Television’s Fabulous America.
Now, I just need to finish catching up with the series, and I’ll be all set. I started wizzing through the series a few weeks ago, and I’m now mid-Series 3. I really don’t know why it’s taken me so long to get round to watching it. Yes, it’s a kids show, but like everyone said at the time, it still manages to be more grown-up than most of Torchwood Series 1. And sometimes more consistent than Doctor Who. So all in all, it’s a good show (unless something absolutely bonkers happens in the final few eps of Series 3).
